Kate Haus is a small interior design studio based near Bath, Somerset, founded and led by interior designer Kate Leason, with a little help behind the scenes from her sister, Boo.
We combine thoughtful, creative design with the practical support needed to bring it all together, keeping the process personal, collaborative, and refreshingly straightforward.
KATE LEASON
Founder & Interior Designer
Kate trained as an Architectural Engineer, graduating with an MEng before qualifying as a Certified Passivhaus Consultant. Her early career was spent working across small architectural practices and sustainable design consultancy, reconfiguring existing homes and gaining experience in planning, construction and building design.
She founded Kate Haus in 2020, gradually leaving consultancy behind to focus entirely on interiors. Her technical background still plays a big part in the way she designs today, combining a creative eye with a practical understanding of buildings and a particular knack for floorplans and tricky spaces.
BOO WICKHAM-SMITH
Studio Coordinator
A University of York graduate with a background spanning HR, PA roles, editing and copywriting, Boo brings a wealth of experience in organisation, communication and keeping things on track.
At Kate Haus, she looks after the admin, organisation and logistics that surround each project, with a formidable ability to keep on top of the details and get things done. From coordinating orders and deliveries to keeping track of suppliers, schedules and all the moving parts that come with a renovation, she makes sure the practical side of each project runs smoothly.
